Airline In Flight Entertainment
With restricted seating and nothing much to do apart from pondering that chicken-beef dilemma, flights often drag on. Depending on your airline, you may be fortunate enough to enjoy some in-flight entertainment.
Generally, the larger airlines offer free in-flight entertainment, especially on medium and long-haul flights. Most aircrafts that operate these flights have now been installed with personalised entertainment systems, which offer a choice of films, television shows and possibly video games, either on demand or on a schedule. Some smaller planes that have not been updated may still have public televisions that screen films throughout the flight.
Budget airlines do not offer entertainment. Usually the low-cost carriers operate only short and medium flights, so entertainment is not a high priority. However, even a three hour flight will get tedious, so be sure to bring a book, mp3 player, laptop or portable DVD player to keep you occupied. (Check with flight attendants before using electrical equipment on board a plane.)
